Dear All,
With a fine sunny day, we are enjoying our TODAY with all the school activities. Students learn to work with others radically. Indeed, a simple communication is so hard for many students. However, students learn to converse and laugh together through the school’s program. Besides, one of the staffs set the basketball hoop for students and students are over the moon and are playing basketball since early morning.
みなさん、こんにちは。
素晴らしいお天気に恵まれて、私たちは学園活動を通して今日という日を楽しみました。生徒たちはみんなと一緒に徹底的に働くことを学びます。実際、多くの生徒たちにとっては簡単な会話はとても難しいのです。しかし、生徒たちは会話し共に笑うことを学園のプログラムを通して学んでいます。そして、スタッフの一人が生徒たちのためにバスケットのゴールを設置してくれて生徒たちは大喜びで朝早くからバスケットボールを楽しんでいます。
Allow me to share some of the conversation I have with my students today.
ここに生徒たちと交わした会話のいくつかを紹介させてください。
Student A said, ‘through the experience of staying at the dorm, students learn to take responsibilities. By taking responsibilities, students learn to obtain confidence. That confidence leads the individuals to be a part of community as a part-time worker. By the students and their part-time works, many other students are being motivated to become independent.’
生徒Aは言います。「寮生活の経験を通して、生徒は責任を取ることを学んでいます。責任を取ることで、生徒は自信を得ていきます。そこで得た自信は個人を１労働者として地域の１人へと導いていってくれます。その生徒たち、そして彼らの労働によって他の多くの生徒たちは自立したいと思うようになっています。」
Student B said, ‘I am learning these months to become myself. At times, I was so tried of trying to fit in. Now, I am okay to be myself and be with others naturally.’
生徒Bは言います。「ここ数か月僕は本来の自分になることを学んでいます。時にはそうなろうとすることにとても疲れてしまいます。でも今では本来の自分でいてほかの人と自然に一緒にいることも大丈夫になりました。」
Student C said, ‘I cannot be an initiator. I don’t know how to connect and communicate. However, I can be with others and enjoy through playing games and basketball.’ Samugaku is a place for everyone and to grow.
生徒Cは言います。「僕は時分から誰かに話しかけることができません。どうやって接しどうやって会話したらいいかわかりません。しかし、ほかの人と一緒にいること、ゲームやバスケットボールをして楽しむことはできます。」サムガクはみんなの場所、成長する場所なのです。
This afternoon, students were at farms and helping the farmers. At the end of the school, I asked the students to express how they felt today. Many students says, “in the morning, I was quite down. However, my feeling is back to normal by being with students and in the flow of the activities of the school and by a fine weather.”
今日の午後、生徒たちは農場に行き農家の人のお手伝いをしました。帰りの会の時、私は生徒たちに今日感じたことを表現してほしいと言いました。多くの生徒たちは「朝はとても落ち込んでいました。しかし、みんなと一緒にいたことで、学園の作業をしたことで、そして素敵なお天気だったことで普段の気持ちに戻りました。」と言いました。
Some students expressed that they are tired because they will have to go to their part-time jobs after the school. By lots of experiences with and in samugaku, students are trained and taught and growing each day.
ある生徒たちは放課後アルバイトに行かなければならないので疲れると表現しました。サムガクでのたくさんの表現によって生徒たちは毎日訓練され教えられ、そして日々成長しているのです。
When I asked their impressions of today, students are not hesitant to express their feelings. I am witnessing that students are not just growing inner beings but also expressing their feelings into words.
私が今日の印象を聞いたとき、彼らは躊躇することなく気持ちを表現しました。私は内面的に成長しているだけでなく気持ちを言葉に乗せて表現することもできるようになっています。
Indeed, students are given all the experiences and opportunities to be loved by all the staffs, to know themselves, to be grateful to their parents and their situation, to become independent.
確かに、生徒たちは、スタッフたちみんなに愛され、自分自身を知り、親と自分の状況に感謝し、自立できるように、あらゆる経験と機会を与えられています。
