In a construction site, good communication is needed and good reading and math skill is required. Students learn on-site how to be mentored and how to carry out the given instructions. It also is a great opportunity for their work to be seen by employers. Hikikomori youth may struggle to get interviews the conventional way due to gaps in their education or work history. However, through direct work experience, employers can have an opportunity to see how they work. The students are doing their best and learning many things, and have impressed the others at this construction site. Employers see their work and approach them with offers of part-time work. This is another step towards getting back into society for the students.
