Today we are being taught to think carefully about ‘life’ and ‘time we have’ by our director Nagaoka.
みなさん、こんにちは。
今日はわれらの長岡理事長による授業で『人生』と『自分の時間』を深く考えることを学びました。
More or less, we take things granted. As a result, we are less motivated and pessimistic.
多かれ少なかれ、私たちは物事を当たり前のことととらえます。その結果、やる気もなく悲観的になります。
Through Director Nagaoka, we are literally taught that every TODAY is costly. Each hour in Samugaku is costly, indeed. Yet, we fail to think the value of our life and our TODAY.
長岡理事長を通じて私たちは一日一日がそれぞれ高価な価値のあるものだということを文字通り教わりました。サムガクでの一時間一時間が高価なものなのです、本当に。それでも私たちは自分の人生の、自分の今日の価値を考えられないのです
You may have reasons NOT to come to school and shut yourself in your room at times.
We are challenged to knowing that our one day costs around 5000 yen. Besides, we are consuming 24 hours each day. The cost for a day and 24 hours each day are being used/ gone either we notice or not those values.
時には学校に来ないこと、そして部屋に閉じこもることの理由があなたにはあるでしょう。私たちの1日は5000円くらいの価値があることを知るように頑張っています。にもかかわらず、私たちは毎日24時間を消費しています。毎日、一日の、24時間の価値は私たちがその価値に気づくかどうかによって有用に使えるか過ぎ去るか決まります。
What is life? Life equals time.
人生とは？人生とは時間です。
Do we value our life? Do we value our time?
自分の人生を大切にしていますか？時間を大切にしていますか？
Yet, we are ignorant and we are living and acting on the whims.
Time is running out.
それでもなお、私たちは知らずに気まぐれに生きています。
時間はなくなっていきます。
No one would shred 1000 yen or 10000 yen bill in the shredder. Yet, each day, we may be wasting our time. Some of us spend all our time over games. Playing games itself is not necessarily bad. Yet, Director Nagaoka challenges us to think that it is worth giving/ spending your time over something or NOT. When we cannot value our time, in a sense we are shredding the cost of our today and our time/life.
誰も1000円札や10000円札をシュレッダーにかけません。それなのに毎日私たちは時間を無駄にしています。ある人たちはすべての時間をゲームに使っています。ゲームをすること自体は悪いことではありません。それでも長岡理事長は何かに自分の時間を使うことに価値があるのかどうかを考えるように私たちに挑戦させました。私たちが時間を大切にできない時は、ある意味私たちは自分の今日を、自分の時間を、人生をシュレッダーにかけていることになります。
Once we belong to school/ university, of course, we are to pay all the fees. Everything costs. Yet, it is worth because being belonged to school/university makes us achieve certain credential and provides all the valuable encounters.
私たちが学校、大学にいったん所属すると料金を支払うことになります。すべてに料金がかかります。学校、大学に所属すると資格を取ったりあらゆる貴重な出会いの機会があるのでそれでも価値があることなのです。
Student 1: I am shocked to know that LIFE is TIME. Till now, I have been wasting my time. It means I am wasting my life. I would like to be alert and try to be a better one.
生徒1：人生は時間だということを知ってショックでした。今まで時間を無駄にしてきました。人生を無駄にしているということです。自分で注意してもっとよくなりたいと思います。
Student 2: When I was in University, I didn’t think my days, time and those value at all. I would like to think meaningfully onward.
生徒2：大学にいたとき、自分の毎日、時間、そしてその価値について少しも考えなかったです。これからは有意義に考えたいです。
Student 3: I want to reduce my time spending on Games. I would like to manage my time meaningfully for student and for immediate future.
生徒3：ゲームする時間を減らしたいです。自分の時間を生徒のために近い将来のために有意義に管理したいです。
Student 4: The question ‘what if the devil asks you to sell one year of your life, how much do you set your value?’ shocks me.
生徒4：『悪魔があなたの人生から1年を売ってくれと言われたら、いくらにするか？』という質問に私はショックを受けました。
Staff: it is a rare perspective for the students to see and think ‘life and time as valuable’. Today class provides the opportunity for students to have a meaningful perspective on every TODAY and time each has been allowed to live. And somehow students learn to value and set value for their lives and time practically.
スタッフ：『価値としての人生と時間』を知り考えることは生徒たちにとってはまれな見解です。今日の授業は私たちが生かされている今日この日と時間に意義深い見解を持つ機会を与えてくれました。そしてある程度生徒たちは現実的に自分の人生と時間を大切に思い、価値を与えることを学びました。
Today is INDEED a fruitful day!
今日は本当に実のある一日でした！
