良いお天気に恵まれましたね。今日は悪天候か台風かと思っていましたが。
We are having a fine weather. We were expecting a bad weather or typhoon.
私たちの日課を知らない方々がたくさんいるかもしれませんので、少しここに書かせてください。
Many might not know our daily routine. Allow me to write a little bit about our routine.
毎晩、スタッフの一人が宿直として寮に泊まります。宿直の人は翌朝早くに学園にやって来ます。スタッフは全員8時頃に出勤します。8時45分になると清掃を始めます。全スタッフで校内全体をそれぞれの担当に分かれて掃除します。9時になるとスタッフミーティングが始まり、各スタッフはそれぞれその日に何を行うか述べます。放課後は必要に応じて生徒のカウンセリングのために時間をとります。生徒の要望に対するより良いアプローチを見つけることや報告などはスタッフ間で一日の終わりに共有されます。
Every night, one of the staff stays over at the dormitory as a night watch. The night watch comes in to the school early in the next day. All the staff are arriving around 8 am in the morning. When it hits 8:45, cleaning begins. All the staff take parts of cleaning the whole school. At 9 am, a staff meeting begins and each staff states what she/he is going to be doing today. After school, staff will make times for counseling sessions for students accordingly. Briefing and finding better approaches for students’ takes place in the end of the day among the staff.
私が今朝学校に来た時、何人かの生徒はすでに登校していました：ある生徒は読書を、またある生徒はダンスの練習を、他の生徒は詩を書いていました。
When I got in to school this morning, some students were already here: one was reading, one practicing dance, the other writing the lyrics.
生徒たちはどうやって責任を果たすか、チームとしてどのように働くか、そしてどのように役目を割り振るかを学んでいます。
Students are learning how to take responsibilities, to work as a team and to delegate the tasks.
上級生たちはスタッフのように後輩を親切によく面倒を見て助けています。彼らは親切、知識、信用、自信の域において着実に成長しているのがわかります。
Senior students are like staff helping their juniors with kindness and great care. Seeing them grow steadily in kindness, knowledge, trust and confidence.
人生は大変です。それでも、生徒たちはバイトや研修を通じて社会に入っていくことによって成長し、人生を楽しむ方法を探しています。今のところ私がここ日本で見た中でここのスタッフたちは最もハードに働いている人たちです。
Life is tough. Yet, students are finding how to thrive and enjoy life by entering the society through part-time works and work trials. Staff are the most hard-working people so far I see here in Japan.
生徒たちは自主的に各々の活動に従事しています。とても様々な生育環境の人々の集団で一緒に活動することそれ自体がチャレンジです。しかしながら、ここでは彼らはその違いにも関わらず来たる9月30日に行われる学園祭に向けて一緒に頑張っています。
Students are participating each activity voluntarily. Working together with a bunch of people who are from quite varied background itself is challenging. However here they are working together regardless of their differences from Upcoming School Festival on September 30.
学園祭のために、生徒たちは採用されるプログラムややるべきことについてすべて詳細に議論したり理解しなければなりません。生徒たちはグループ内において自分たちで考え、話し合い、物事を選択し決めなければなりません。それはきわめてチャレンジングなことです。それでも彼らはやっています。私たちスタッフは必要に応じて彼らを指導できるように常に傍らにおります。
For the school festival, students have to discuss and figure out all the details regarding programs and stuffs which will be applied. Students have to think, discuss, choose and decide things themselves within their group. It is quite challenging. Yet, they are doing it. We staff are always on standby in order to guide them accordingly.
午後は隣り町のお百姓さんの一人を手伝いに行きました。生徒たちは地域の人々を知り、自然に社会的なふれあいの機会を作っています
In the afternoon, we were helping one of the farmers next to our town. Students are reading local people and making social contacts naturally.
特に言いたいことは、どの状況においても一人ぼっちの生徒はいないということです。
Above all, no student is alone in any situation.
