Good afternoon from Samugaku!
Chaa is writing the blog. And today is my 14th wedding anniversary and I met my husband 17 years ago. Life is full of wonders. I am so blessed by many people. Today here I am at samugaku and with staffs and students and enjoying my life together with them. Students learn from us and we learn from students. We grow together. Priceless.
In the first morning we have “Choice Study” and students got to do the choice task/program they chose for a month. One of the “choice study” is to write a story. This morning “Choice Study” is about “’family.” For some people, writing about family is somehow complicated. Yet, student A wrote about “family” as follow: “now I have a family. In the near future, I will be making my own family. Yet, I cannot imagine how I would have a family of my own.” Before student A would have not shared anything about his family. “Life changes” take place here in samugaku.
In the second half morning, we all enjoyed ballet. Ballet is literally so hard. Yet, the instructor, Emi sensei, is so kind and tender. She speaks clear and her dance steps are big and obvious.
All the dance steps are literally difficult. However, we all could do the dance steps including a trial student.
Impressive that how individuals could do the dance steps when we all are together. Together-ness is vital, I learn.
In the afternoon, there was a drawing class. We did the oil painting. Oil painting for me is too far reaching. Yet, here in Samugaku, students are given fine opportunity to draw, to dance, to sing, to speak, to cook… Students are provided with organized and well-thought program.
I do love seeing students communicate and express their opinion or thought in words and actions. Samugaku is made of love and great care towards students and their families. All the students are given second or third chance. Life is beautiful. I witness here in Samugaku today too.
