Raining days will continue. Though the weather is getting cooler, pouring weather has caused lots of inconvenient in transportation. Besides, hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated from their homes as heavy rain hits wide areas of Japan. Please do take care and drive safe!
みなさん、こんにちは。
雨降りが続いています。涼しくなりますが、土砂降りの雨は交通に大変不便をきたします。また、この大雨が日本各地を襲い、何百、何千もの人々が自宅を出て避難しています。どうかみなさんも気を付けて安全運転を。
In the morning, there are “CHOICE studies.” Students can pick the subject they like and enjoy it for a month. To talk to someone else is not easy for many students. Yet, school activities provide lots of opportunities for students. Students learn to communicate by the activities of school. No one can be alone. Everyone gets to talk with someone and to work with someone.
午前中は『チョイス スタディー』です。生徒たちは好きなものを選んで1か月間それを楽しみます。誰か他の人に話しかけるのは多くの生徒にとって簡単なことではありません。しかし、学園活動は生徒たちにたくさんの機会を与えています。生徒たちは学園活動によってコミュニケイションを学んでいます。誰も一人ぼっちにはなれないのです。誰もが誰かと話し、共に活動するのです。
Today we learn the formalities of Japanese culture. We learned “Dos and Don’ts” at Japanese Wedding and Japanese Business Drinking Parties.
今日、私たちは日本の文化における礼儀作法を学びました。結婚式と公式の飲み会での『守るべきマナー』について学びました。
Students raised lots of questions out of curiosity. There will be weddings to attend and Business Drinking Parties to involve. When I see students get interested into those topics, I see HOPE in students and through the students. There is HOPE in students through samugaku.
生徒たちは好奇心からたくさんの質問をしました。この先、出席する結婚式とそれに伴う披露宴があることでしょう。彼らがこのような話題に興味を持つことがわかって、生徒たちの中に‘’希望‘’を見出しました。サムガクを通して、生徒たちの中には‘’希望‘’があります。
I talked with a few students.
私は数人の生徒と話しました。
Student 1: She is learning how to maintain a good friendship with her friend. She made a couple of good questions and I answered them as much as I could. What a lovely heart-warming moment to see a student GROW.
生徒1：彼女は友達と良い友情を保つ方法を学んでいます。彼女はいくつか良い質問をし、私はできるだけその質問に答えました。生徒の成長を見ることはなんて心温まる瞬間なのでしょう。
Student 2: “I am learning how to think. I am writing down what I should be thinking for my immediate future.” Thinking connects us to the better us. If we stop thinking, of course our lives will be easier. Yet, no change can beget.
生徒2：「私はどのように考えるかを学んでいます。私はごく近い将来のために何を考えるべきかを書き留めています。」考えることは私たちをより良い私たちにつなげます。もし私たちが考えることをやめたなら、もちろん人生はより易しいものになるでしょう。しかしながら、何の変化も生まれません。
Life is indeed difficult to live without having someone near us. Here in Samugaku, no one is alone. Everyone got someone to talk with and to exchange thoughts.
傍らに誰もいない状態で生きていけば人生は本当に困難なものです。ここサムガクでは誰もひとりぼっちではありません。誰にも、話し、考えていることを教えあう誰かがいます。
See, now our life is easier and beautiful indeed because we aren’t alone and there is always someone for us here in Samugaku.
ほら、サムガクではいつも誰かがいてひとりぼっちではないのですから人生は本当に楽になり美しくなります。
Together, we can reach our goal.
共に、私たちは自分のゴールに達することができるのです。
